Multi-line VAT calculator
New Zealand: 15% 9%
The calculator calculates the value-added tax for multiple lines (rows). Each line has a quantity, unit price and VAT rate. You can choose whether the price you enter is exclusive or inclusive of tax.
Note: You must know yourself which calculation method or methods comply with your own legislation! The calculation method you choose affects rounding. You may get slightly different results from different methods:
- Per rate: Lines with the same rate are summed. Rounding is performed for each rate.
- Per line: Tax is calculated and rounded separately for each line. The taxes of the lines are then summed.
- Per unit: Tax is calculated on the price of one unit and multiplied by the quantity.
When prices include VAT, the tax is rounded and the tax-exclusive price is the difference between the tax-inclusive price and the tax.
Note! The VAT information on this page is general information, not tax advice. The information is not exhaustive. VAT rules include many exceptions and special cases. Check the treatment of your situation in the tax administration's guidelines.
